Teaser Tuesdays!

This is a weekly meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Here are the rules-- Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Here's my teaser:

"It hung just beneath the surface, suspended amid the sundry flotsam and jetsam that characterises an urban canal in old age. Oil slick rainbows on the water's dark surface iridescent in the August sun, added to the spectrum of colours the canal paraded, in the form of crisps packets and plastic shopping bags, drawn irresistibly to the water."

page 166, "Sugar & Spice" by Saffina Desforges

(To find out what was there in the water, you'd better read the book! Review coming soon.)

That's the second time today that this book has been recommended. I must have a closer look. I loved the teaser.. it's going on my TBR.

My teaser is from a new author who I feel we may be hearing a great deal from in the near future...

Love the title, and the cover!
Great teaser. I hate suspense!

Thanks for stopping by! I'm glad to hear someone liked Mockingjay. I haven't gotten very many good reviews on it but I loved the other 2 so much that I had to find out about the 3rd one for myself.

There'd be lots of stuff that you don't want to think about in an old canal!
